KEYSTONE PLACE IS AN EMERGENCY HOUSING FACILITY THAT PROVIDES SERVICES TO THE HOMELESS AND AT RISK OF BECOMING HOMELESS POPULATIONS IN ST. JOSEPH COUNTY.

As a non-profit organization, KeyStone Place relies on the involvement of volunteers to succeed in its mission. The goal of the volunteer program is to support the mission of the shelter and to offer opportunities for the community. Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting the guests, staff, and the community.

Our Mission

KeyStone Place Inc. provides temporary, emergency housing and services to homeless and at-risk persons in St. Joseph County. We promote self-sufficiency with respect and dignity.

History

KeyStone Place was started in 1996. From 1996 – 2001 KeyStone Place operated under the Community Action Agency.

From 1996 through 2008, KeyStone Place operated out of a two-story farmhouse located in Centreville Michigan.

In 2008 a new shelter was constructed at 505 E Market St in Centreville, Michigan. with help from the Glen Oaks Community College Trade Department.

The new shelter can assist 6 families and 11 individuals per night.
