KeyStone Place Homeless Shelter receives grant from Hastings Mutual Insurance Company Charitable Foundation
KeyStone Place Homeless Shelter was awarded a $10,000 grant from Hastings Mutual Insurance Company Charitable Foundation to help them continue to serve the homeless populations in St. Joseph County Michigan.
“To be funded by Hastings Mutual Insurance Company Charitable Foundation is definitely a privilege,” said Kelli Tackett, Director at KeyStone Place Homeless Shelter.
KeyStone Place Homeless Shelter will put the funding towards the update and remodel of bathroom and shower facilities to help provide more services to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness, Tackett said.
“With the help of this grant, KeyStone Place Homeless Shelter will be able to offer emergency food and shelter to nearly 500 individuals in St. Joseph County this year,” said Tackett.
KeyStone Place Homeless Shelter programs include:
Emergency Shelter
Provide emergency shelter nights of stay. Also providing a motel night of stay if the shelter is full.
Case Management
Working with families, and/or individuals to create a service plan that promotes self-sufficiency and dignity.
Financial Assistance
Providing customers with rental assistance, security deposits, bus tickets, utility assistance, and other funds to assist families and/or individuals in maintaining their housing.
Homeless Prevention / Case Management Services
Working with families and/or individuals once they are housed (home visits and other support) to assist them in maintaining their housing
- Food pantry (shelter customers only)
- Housing quality standard inspections
- Clothing and other needs when available
